Our Services

Our teams offer a variety of services. Whether it is the trimming of a beech hedge or the felling of an oak tree, we can help you.

  • Tree felling is the process of cutting down or removing trees. This could be required for a variety of reasons, including tree death or disease, or because a tree poses a danger to the environment around it.

Felling a tree requires the correct skills and equipment, and therefore should be left to a trained arborist. Our tree surgeons will carry out an assessment of the tree and surrounding areas to outline the best approach.

  • Sectional Felling is the process of removing sectional parts of a tree – usually the branches. This is required when it is difficult to fell the entire tree, due to proximity to buildings or electrical lines.

This process requires a skilled climber to ascend the tree and lower the branches safely to the ground using rigging techniques to avoid damage to property and the surrounding area.

  • Pollarding is a pruning system in which the upper branches of a tree are removed to encourage a new, healthy growth of foliage and branches. Once finished, the tree begins regenerating multiple shoots that continue growing for years to come.

It is important not to allow growth to become too unmanageable or heavy for the trunk, so it is advisable that this process be carried out on a consistent basis.

  • This process alleviates the overbearing or dangerous qualities of a dominant tree. This can be achieved by reduction of the height or spread of the tree, lifting by detaching the lower limbs, or thinning by removing unwanted weight from branch tips.

Crown reduction, lifting or thinning is very specific to each case, with an overall aim to reduce danger and/or sunlight obstruction.

  • Trees undergo the natural process of shedding deceased twigs and branches. However, often there are cases where deadwood does not shed naturally and requires removal to avoid risk to life as well as to allow the remainder of the tree to flourish successfully.

  • In addition to tree services, our team are experts in all aspects of shrub maintenance including reduction, removal, and trimming to shape your hedges to whatever specifications you desire. This can be conducted on as a one-off procedure, or annual contracts can be arranged.

  • Tree Stump Grinding is the process of removing unwanted or potentially hazardous tree stumps. Stump grinding is often the most challenging aspect of any tree removal and requires specialist stump grinding machinery to wear down the stump below surface level.

  • In cases where trees, bushes and brush have become overgrown, our team can be on hand to undertake site clearance.

This can involve tree felling, stump grinding and scrub clearance.

  • Trees can fall without any warning, at any time.

For this reason, Blake Tree Care offer a 24 hour emergency service that is on call to assist with storm damage or dangerous trees.

  • An area of woodland can be used for a variety of purposes: a recreational space, an area of natural beauty, a source of timber, so on. It is essential for the longevity of these areas that they are serviced and well tendered to.

We can provide a short or long-term service to both private and buisness owners to help ensure that woodland areas remain manageable, healthy, and visually pleasing. Woodland management plans will be tailored to unique requirements and desired outcomes.

  • Tree transplanting is an efficient and cost-effective method of re-deploying existing trees and hedges. Using specialist technologies and industry techniques, our team can safely relocate trees situated in hazardous or unsuitable locations, protecting the integrity of the tree as well as the surrounding location.
