Essex Tree Surgeons
Domestic Tree Surgery | Commercial Tree Surgery | Emergency Tree Work
Our yard sits at Mount Bures, on the Essex bank of the Stour, which puts most of north Essex on the doorstep. Colchester, Halstead, Braintree, Coggeshall and Earls Colne are short runs for the team, so smaller jobs are easy to fit around larger ones booked nearby.
We work across the rest of the county as well, including Chelmsford, Witham, Maldon, Brentwood and Billericay, and out towards Brightlingsea, Clacton and the Tendring coast. Distance affects how a job gets scheduled rather than whether we take it on. A single garden tree slots in alongside other work in the same area. Anything needing several days, controlled lowering and a chipper on site is planned properly wherever it is.

Trusted by Homeowners and Businesses
George Blake runs a thoroughly professional and knowledgeable arboricultural business. His approach focuses on the long term health of trees rather than simply removing them. The work his team undertakes is carried out carefully, safely and with real respect for the surrounding landscape.
From first contact to works completed, everyone I dealt with was helpful and friendly. The team kept me informed, worked safely and professionally, and left everything tidy. I would have no hesitation in recommending Blake Tree Care.
They removed five large fir trees, around 70 feet tall, that were close to a building. The team arrived with serious equipment and worked efficiently throughout. Completed in just two days with everything cleaned up afterwards. Definitely recommended.
I could not recommend this company enough. The job involved a very complex piece of work requiring significant planning and preparation. The whole team were professional throughout and nothing was ever too much trouble. An excellent experience from start to finish.
This is our third time using Blake Tree Care to manage our trees and hedges. We come back every time for a reason — easy to work with, reasonably priced, excellent work and always leave everything tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Blake Tree Care called back within minutes, visited the same day to assess the work and provided a written quotation the following morning. The whole process was professional, responsive and reassuring. I would happily recommend them.
From the moment they arrived they were friendly, professional and worked incredibly hard. They wore all the correct safety gear, were considerate to neighbours and carried out the work to a very high standard. Everything was left spotless. A fantastic team.
Communication was excellent from the outset, including a confirmation email before the work. The team arrived promptly, worked efficiently throughout the day and did a great job. Professional, organised and easy to deal with from start to finish.
An immaculate service from quote to completion. The team were efficient, effective and pleasant. They dealt with an awkwardly placed and very large tree, stacked the logs as requested and left everything tidy. Definitely a 5 star service.
From start to finish they were professional, knowledgeable and efficient. They carefully assessed the trees, explained everything clearly and carried out the work to a very high standard. Everything was left neat and tidy. I highly recommend them.
Top notch service from all the chaps and Tracey. From quoting and dealing with the council through to carrying out the work, everything was handled professionally. The team understood exactly what I wanted, arrived promptly and left everything tidy afterwards. Professional, reliable and easy to deal with throughout.
Fantastic job from start to finish. George visited to provide a quote, offered great advice and made the whole process straightforward. The team worked hard, delivered exactly what was promised and left everything super tidy. I am really happy with the end result and would happily recommend Blake Tree Care.
